In the context of adaptive cruise control and Level 3 AD, ensuring effective driver engagement during takeover requests is critical for safety. This presentation explores the integration of vibrotactile feedback in the seatbelt system to deliver clear, immediate, and non-intrusive cues for drivers. Combining vibrotactile alerts with visual and auditory signals can enhance situational awareness, reduce response times, and minimize the risk of delayed driver engagement in complex road scenarios. Through case studies and user testing, we analyze the benefits of multisensory feedback systems and discuss how such integration could set a new standard for takeover prompts in ACC and L3 AD technologies.
