Andreas is an ergonomist and UX researcher with 15 years of professional experiences in the automotive and aviation industry, and in ICT. Since joining Yanfeng in January 2022, he is a member of the global UX research team and responsible for Europe. He actively engages in a broad variety of research tasks, beginning with user research to define product requirements. In the subsequent product development phase he takes the role of human factors and ergonomics to help designers and engineers adapt products to human cognitive and physical abilities. His third area of responsibility is usability testing against the initially defined user-centric product requirements. The range of Andreas’ research topics at Yanfeng is quite broad and includes haptic sensation, sustainable materials perception, smart switches, seating discomfort and non-driving related tasks – just to mention a few. Before joining Yanfeng, Andreas conducted UX research in Huawei Technologies to improve professional antenna systems and data center equipment. He also led a software ergonomics team to improve smartphone UIs through eye-tracking studies in his lab.
Andreas studied mechanical engineering and holds a PhD in ergonomics. He earned his degrees at the Institute of Ergonomics at Technical University of Munich, where he was a researcher, manager of the usability lab, and was highly engaged in developing the master's degree program in Human Factors Engineering.
