Modern vehicles are digital, connected, and personalized. Personalized mobility scenarios, however, rely on personal data in order to guarantee an individual experience. Data protection regulations worldwide refer to personal data as Personally Identifiable Information (PII). Important: PII is subject to special treatments such as transparency, minimization, user consent, purpose binding, portability as well as rectification and deletion. This presentation gives an overview of current data protection regulations and their impact on personalized mobility. Moreover, a gap analysis of current infotainment systems as the central user interface will be discussed and an approach how-to improve the configuration of someone’s privacy settings will be introduced. This leads to a design proposal for a privacy-preserving and user-friendly infotainment system.
